Kingsburg Case Update

On Sunday, June 9, 2019, Kingsburg Police Department (KPD) requested assistance from CCSPCA’s Humane Officers in the seizure of 15 dogs in Kingsburg, CA. The dogs were subsequently rescued by KPD and CCSPCA from an abandoned house with an interior filled with feces and were immediately transported to Second Chance Animal Shelter in Selma. On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, all 15 dogs were transferred into custody of CCSPCA to conduct full forensic medical examinations to be used as evidence in the case.

Investigations revealed all dogs had severe flea infestations and were treated with Vectrin to combat the fleas and Ivermectin to combat potential exposure to scabies (tests came back negative.) All dogs have been under the watchful eye of our staff and have been recovering.

CCSPCA would like to thank KPD and Second Chance Animal Shelter for their professionalism and collaboration in this case.

The care of these dogs is made possible because of CCSPCA’s Wellness Fund. This fund exists to provide emergency care for sick and injured animals, as well as animal victims of abuse, cruelty, and neglect. The Wellness Fund is supported solely from members of the public.
