A Random Act of Kindness

A Random Act of Kindness

In late November, a local Fresno man and his friend came to us with his Maltese puppy. She had a large protruding infection in her right eye, but was otherwise in good health. After visiting his pup’s veterinarian, he was led to believe there were no options for his sweet little girl. The vet recommended that he put the puppy down, which was the sole reason why he came to us.

Hearing his story and seeing the cute little ball of joy, we knew we couldn’t go through with his request. Our Shelter Operations Manager stepped in and offered to have our veterinarian remove her eye free of charge so she could live a full, healthy life.

Following two successful surgeries (she wasn’t fixed, so we offered that also) and a quick recovery, the puppy went home on December 5. Her tail wouldn’t stop wagging when she saw her owner’s face!

The puppy’s surgeries were made possible because of the CCSPCA Wellness Fund. The Wellness Fund is supported entirely by donations from generous people like you. Because of the Fund, we are able to provide extra medical care and surgeries to adoptable animals, as well as special circumstance surgeries like this one.
